Think the title says it all, with only 3 class's to choose from making a alt in the future will be very boring. CoH had a nice sub class system and i think it would work here. Or are there new classes in the works already? Anyone know

We already have the highly-anticipated dentistry path available, it seems only fair to allow other medical and non-medical career paths.

guess your all just happy with 3 classes total, making you the exact same char as 33% of the rest of the people playing STO, and it doesent have to be nurse it can be doctor ffs

I think it comes down to the type of character you develop is what distinguishes you. In other RPGs you often seen positions of Tank/DPS/Healer OMG 3 classes right?

Generally no, they use these three player genres and break them down into different Classes.

In STO it seems that the difference comes after the fact, you choose your archetype so to speak, Tank/DPS/Healer and then you differentiate yourself through your skill choices/kits/ship choices.

There are plenty of ways you can take your character, it just happens in the game instead of at the character creation window.

What you should probably ask for is more skill trees and abilities. This would probably be a better means to help your problem, adding a series of nursing skills/trees and such.

DAOC did the opposite or so it seemed to me, they created 50 different classes all of which were closely related to the class next to it, having pretty much the exact same abilities just different little names for it all. In the end it was just the illusion of different classes based on mixing up the same abilities and regurgitating them into a new "class"

you make alot of good points there mate, but still only 3 classes no matter how much you change you crew and ships etc around your still pretty near everyone else of the same class. Instead of only 3 classes it would be nice to atlest have 5
