well, of course... that would be awesome... I think... eating... recombine molecules into anything...

anyway, this is still an idea and far from a real life replicator :D

but the idea is the same, and makes me wonder about what the future might looks like...

    for me this is the whole allure to star trek... the what ifs?? Replicators/holodecks would be pretty awesome no doubt about that

    we saw in TOS basically their communicators nowadays we have cellphones (not like in the 60's that was even conceivable)

    what else, probably more things as well

    Weird. Eerie. Feeling a bit hungry now. As far as holodecks go, anyone else think Microsoft's Project Natal might be the first step?

    With a starship recycling everything the crew uses, it is likely that the crew is literally eating their own TRIBBLE.

    Space.com had an article a few months back stating that NASA had developed a replicator-like device and was going to send it up to the space station for use. It only creates metal items like tools and such, but of course I'm sure eventually it'll they'll develop food versions.
