    As much as I liked the new film, I'm ignoring it exists for the sake of the game.

    Pretty much the point of the "alternate reality" conversation theyhad mid-movie I think.

    Yeah, but do you ever think they'll go back and revisit the TNG/DS9/VOY timeline like STO has? NO, of course not. Write it off. In their minds, they've erased it from history. We might as well do that, too, or cling to the last bastion of it here in the game.

    Believe me, if J.J. Abrams thinks it's better to forget everything after TOS ever happened, CBS will back him up on that until they start losing money for doing so.
