Missions not saved immediately...

I have absolutely NO problem with you doing any updates, maintenance, restarts, etc....really, no problem...
But, for the love of Pete! SAVE OUR PROGRESS IN MISSIONS AS WE COMPLETE PARTS OF THEM! :mad:
You know, 3/5 Romulan ships defeated or 2/6 artifacts scanned...
Once I log back on, not only do I have to RESTART the mission, but I am booted out of that star system...
{This is, of course, in response to the recent "emergency maintenance; in which we had NO notice. I completely understand that this kind of thing happens and commend the development team for all of their hard work.}
Some of the missions are very long and tedious, not to mention difficult (which is good); and restarting them from scratch is a pain that makes me want to drop the mission altogether.
I have noticed that some of the "multi-part" missions (i.e.: Doomsday Machine) DO let you continue (for the most part). Thank you very much for that.
I don't see why it would be so hard to save mission progress as it occurs; but then again, I am not a developer.
If there is a way to do it; pretty please with strawberries and sugar on top?
And, a system message would have been nice before dumping everybody, as well...
Otherwise, great game and having much fun.

Because it is very pertinent to what just occurred...a server crash.
And, guess what? I was right at the end of a patrol mission.
Please address this issue, somehow? Please?
