No credit for Enemy contact missions

Is anyone else having this trouble?? I've been trying to do the first enemy contact mission for a while now I've done at least 12 runs and I've only got credit for 2. I'm assuming it's because I have to talk to the kingeon captain but I never get the opertunity. (before anyone asks, yes I am in the right sector block)

    Yes Ive been having this same problem all weekend. I only have 2/3 . No matter how many deep space encounters I finish from start to end... I dont get credit for the third... ever. Yes same sector
