Posted this in gameplay forum as well, but may be more useful here.

Or give the thing some resistance to cannons. Its being perma farmed by escorts while other classes just hope to get in the top 10 :-p

Seiously Cryptic fix your loot system, it only rewards one class of ships.

So as soon as you get your escort go get your free blue loot.

Its in Alpha Centauri. Talk to the ship there near Ten or the Entity itself if you can find it. Blue loot in 15 seconds of work.

Yes its really bad now. Before not so many other than Mirandas.

    That's not to say there aren't problems with fleet actions. I'm just feeling snarky today.

    Ok :)

    But appearently the glass cannons only need 15 seconds and by the way their shields are fine after the fight :-p

    It was 3 seconds on average in OB...

    I'd say Cryptic jumped through hoops to fix it. LOL!, j/k

    Cannons are fine now :-p Mines dont have the kick they had before on it, but the cannons do just fine.

    I got a feelign they are going to change it so more crystals have beam attacks and different stages which is too bad.

    Hey Cryptic, make this... and other missions... MORE DIFFICULT, PLEASE!!!!!


    MAKE IT SO TOUGH THAT PEOPLE WHINE ON THE FORUMS HOW YOU NEED TO BE IN A WELL FORMED FLEET TO FINISH.

    Then you can complain about my caps lock.

    /Signed, for my own reasons. This is a really cool seeming mission that could easily be one of the coolest encounters in the game but instead you get to go in, fly over to the hoard of escorts, and then maybe fire a phaser or two if you're lucky before it's over. Very depressing.

    Random spawn the thing and 90% of the problems with this mission would be fixed.

    Just make it damn near impossible. Currently, the damn thing doesn't do any damage and dies almost instantly after spawning, it's a joke really.

    Free blue sure, but who cares ? Its IV blues, In a week they wont be worth a single energy credit..

    Tbh dont see why anyone would farm fleet action at that lvl in any case..

    How ever I do agree that the reward system for fleet action needs to be completly re-evaluated..

    unless they fixed it finally...
    Evasive manuevers + full impulse + ramming speed = #1 on damage chart in the crystalline entity.

    It got fixed. No more exploited 8 million damage for you :)

    yeah, but at what lvl do you get ramming speed in an escort? I believe it's near the end of the T2 ship range.

    As a cruiser i was doing half the damage of escorts that where on my Rank. I was Lt. Cmdr fully equiped with MK2 items..some blue and some green. Mostly common. That was in OB. It's really hard for a cruiser to get to the top. Luck for me that a friend was in the same battle, piloting an escort and giving me some drops...in any other way i would have walked away with a bunch of batteries. I think this biggy needs some loot balancing.

    Or we start by giving every player who participated in the fight some good loot :D

    yea. and this goes for every fleet action, lol

    the crystalline entity is just the most obvious, but if an escort does it's best not to die in the longer ones it'll still have the highest score when the round is over.

    Its not easy I will give Cryptic that, but these are the things that needed fixed in beta and they said they "Have a plan for fleet action loot"

    You have to give bonuses for healing.. bonuses for taking damage.. and then damage done. But it has to be very tightly balanced. They may be just waiting for peopel to get to the end game to finish up the new looting system? I do not know.

    another example of a dps calculated loot system benefiting the dps heavy escort class.. there a shocker for ya :D

    Yeah, I tried to do this mission and by the time I read the instruction some farmer had completed the mission. Don't blame them to be honest, as theres not much else to do atm.

    What bugs me is that even missions that worked in beta are now broke, like the defend sector mission.

    Thing about this is that its much worse then just the loot system. The aggro system is entirely based on Range/DPS as well. Running top dps, also means you run top damage taken. Which funny enough, only escort pilots will heal another escort pilot so you see escorts as the top dps, top heal, and the top damage taken. So yea, I don't have a problem with escorts also getting all the loot.

    Eh. I don't so much see the Crystalline Entity as a Loot Pinata, as rather a Refit Station.

    Lots of people who are there farming it are rather generous, and give out the blues they don't have a need for to others who do.

    So why dont we just rename the Escorts the Kings of loot and we can do thy bidden according as so in order to be graced with blue gear if he/she so wishes it.

    I think it's fine the way it is. It's a lowbie instance and has limited use. The only reason why it seems easy is because of 10+ escorts firing on it. It dies like it should die plain and simple.

    If you hate not getting loot nothing is stopping you from getting in your own escort and having at it.

    There are much bigger fish to fry with this game than this non factor.
