Minimap window

Anyone else find themselves opening up the big map to see their location over looking at this? It feels like they don't show enough area. Everything else is good, I love the layout of the minimap UI.

...but it kinda feels like there aren't enough details in space to make the minimap itself too useful.

EDIT:: Ground missions seem fine, in space on the other hand...
