So being bored waiting for the server to come back up and I check my email. Low and behold what comes from Amazon:

Hello from Amazon.com.

We are writing to you today because you purchased a pre-order copy of Star Trek
Online.

We are now able to offer Release-Date Delivery for this video game. This
special delivery option is available to you for no additional charge and has
been automatically applied to your order. Your copy of Star Trek Online will
arrive on Tuesday, February 2nd.

We realize that many of our customers are huge Star Trek fans, and we're happy
to offer Release-Date Delivery to get this title to you even faster.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com.

They've had the option up for a while now. Wasn't up when I first pre-ordered though. Checked back a few weeks ago and applied it to my account myself. :)

Just an important FYI, if you have Amazon Prime, the Release-Date Delivery will be FREE.

Here's a method for getting 3 months of Prime for FREE as well (even for users who have already tried it in the past).

So, there's your free release-date shipping for STO on Amazon.

(If there's any violation to linking to an external forum, please modify this post accordingly. I think I'm good, since it's not anything illegal and benefits *all* Amazon purchasers on this forum.)

Amazon is great. I like to order console games & movies from them. Can't beat their prices. I got STO from direct2drive though. The flimsy boxes PC games come in are too much of a waste of space for me.
