make dev annoucement threads read-only

Just a suggestion - when the devs make a post about downtime, patches, whatever, can they make that post read-only? I dont really want to click on a dev announcement and then have to scroll through 50 pages of whatever trying to find any followup from the dev.

We can always start a new thread if people want to talk/***** about whatever it is.

    I second this motion. The announcement forum should be Cryptic staff only so a downtime post can simply have two posts, that its down then the followup that its back up.

    I'm going there for information and not 500 thanks and fail replies.

    theres a better solution to this

    use the dev tracker, itl take you right to EVERY dev post made without the garbage in between

    as stated, dev tracker works, but agreed read only would be nice.
