I've been a major opponent of making the game easier throughout beta. But I haven't noticed any scale-back in the difficulty yet. Perhaps you've just become a more practiced player and are remembering things as being harder than they actually were when you were new.

I agree with Phobia here, although I do remember having a little bit of trouble in some of the beginning patrol missions. I realized that this was originally an issue with not being familiar with the skill system and how to upgrade your character. When you upgrade going along the missions it makes it much much easier. Mainly since you've got more maneuverability, better usage of your weapons, power, etc.
I do think when you get to certain sections the difficulty will ramp up, especially when you get to other sectors of space. I also think since we're in head-start a lot of people already know what missions are what and fly through to get to the content they were previously at in beta... I know that is what I am doing.
the difficulties about where is is at the close of OB, the thing is your just doing the low level stuff, which is easier. in my experiance the game only really started to get challangeing in OB when you moved onto the romulians and cardassians. who did a bit more then just shoot at you.
I think it's easy but having seen this already once before in beta I expected it. I'd save the complaining until you get back to where you were in beta or at least mid-way through Lt. Commander ranks.
...to the guy stating blah blah blah target audience...not typical MMO blah blah blah...hardcore blah blah blah. Go blah blah blah in some corner of the galaxy where we can't hear you.
At the start of OB things were harder, tough even, in a great, challenging kinda way, then the patch that ruined everything came along and then the backtrack toward a middle ground, currently it is still a little too easy.
I wouldnt say this game is just for trekkies and not MMO traditionalists, but then maybe that would explain all the *****ing about downtime, we MMO's have learned breathing techniques to deal with new release downtimes.
