When will steam start letting us download?

I'd like to start downloading, so I will be ready to play the game after work today. :)

    Hmm, I downloaded and patched last night to get ready. You should be able to at any point, I believe.

    If not from Steam then from various locations around the web. The Client has been seeded all over.

    The ability to download from Steam has been there since beta started.

    Steam shows that I have preordered, but all it shows on my list of games that I can install is the beta. Do I have to use the beta client to play the game?

    Use the beta and when you log in - STO will patch your beta to the release client.

    It doesn't matter what version of the client you download as it will simply autopatch you to the current version. So yes start downloading whatever version you can get as it is a large download first time.

    2 FEB it will change to Retail with a Retail Key

    I see. I deleted the beta client thinking that another game would be activated in steam. :(

    Steam will probably only show the beta at this point, that's what I'm user.

    Whatever you do, DO NOT tell Steam to check integrity - someone else did and it rolled back hundreds of megs of patches. :eek:

    Atleast steam is letting me download at 2mb/s. I'm already over 10%. I was just hoping to get in some game time over lunch. :)

    I have it on steam and I would like to have th enormal game instead of Beta. Its not beta anymore and I purchased the regular game. I don't like having to log in a bunch of times to play.

    Just launch the beta client in steam and it'll let you patch. NEVER verify an mmos files on steam. it can cause them to get deleted.

    And themove. its just a name tag. I'm sure they'll remove the beta tag soon. Its basically the same client as you can patch that up to release already.
