How do I know if my Custom Power Matrix is on or off?

You would have thought that the icons would be dim if off and bright if on. Or at least different. But they are exactly the same whether active or not. Do they reset to off after a battle? No idea...
At the minute I have to click on it and actively watch to see if my shields/engine/aux go down. This can be very annoying as my power levels change constantly.
Is there any chance of changing the Icons so I can see at a glance if they are on or off? PS5 BTW...
