Could someone please explain that when I change ships It gives me the option to 'save and continue' or 'don't save and continue'.
I have no idea what the difference between these options is other than occasionally it tribbles my whole set up and traits and puts things in my inventory.
What's more strange is sometimes it doesn't even give me the option. I generally just want to leave things as they are before I change ship. So should I choose 'to save' or 'not ro save'? That is the question.
No. No I don't. But sometimes when I hit 'don't save' it tribbles up my other traits. In other words, I have a ship as my main, switch ship and then I get the prompt. To me save or not is now like roulette. Why do I have to save it? It's already as I like it so I hit no save, then half of my weapons and set-ups are gone and I have to redo them manually all all over again.
Back in the early days I didn't have to worry about this, the game remembered what I put where.
This isn't a complaint, I am legitimately confused as to what I pick if I want to change ship and keep things as they are. Save or not save? It's doubly maddening as you don't have ro save anything anyway!

I agree.
Why do I have to save it?
Because there's an unsaved change ?

Well.. if you don't save an unsaved change it could be lost. But then why is there an unsaved change if nothing has changed? Maybe the unsaved change was due to not saving changes the last time something changed?
There are couple of things at play here. 1) There is an active thread in bugs about traits getting reset you may be affected by. 2) The save changes system is kinda stupid. You can have your loadouts saved (no prompt), go to a ground map and then go back into space and it will show unsaved changes... what those changes are? Who knows. But then there's things like what you have as devices. As you use/get batteries for example, that's a change.
Personally, if the ship is setup as I want it, and have saved the loadout, then when I swap ships I do not save any changes. When I reload into a ship and its all messed up, it will usually correct itself on manually reloading that loadout. Auto loading is sometimes buggy. And finally, 3) If you play some select missions where you play a locked ship for a mission, that will usually break loadouts for some people.
