Potential powers: torpedo vs kin+phys

Could somebody please explain the difference between these two mods for an isomag because Google (and indeed my UI) certainly isn't going to.

I think kinetic and physical refers to resists against the same whereas torpedo would boost torpedo damage. I wouldn't get kinetic / physical.

I would just focus your isomag selection on what you have most of.. i.e. if your Discovery Constitution is phaser based, get all isomags with the phaser modifier.

Normally boost consoles (tactical consoles or isomags) are selected via what you have the most of and support just one firing mode so in this case am guessing you have many more energy weapons than torpedoes.

Of course when you have eight empty console slots and a ship with lots of energy weapons AND a couple of hangar bays the balance between isomags and hcpt's COULD be different depending upon your preferences.

My 5 iso 3 hcpt recommendation in your other thread wasn't based upon any testing and was more of a 60/40 thing designed to promote discussion. It could be a great choice or it could be not the best idea due to it's lack of focus.

Five plus seems to be a good number for isomags though.
