So for the longest time, Defera has been a rather forgotten place, I don't even know when it was last updated and I have been playing for about ..9? years now.
I was just there for some Borg ground kills when I noticed somethings rather annoying and entertaining.
Some of the Drones are "Hopping" mad, they are standing in a location and they just started to "Hop" not jump, but it's like someone is using them as a basketball or something, I think it's the ones normally guarding the Defera civilians that are about to be assimilated.
Another thing that I found, was that there are invisible drones now, not cloaked, just invisible. I think it's the ones that will be transported in when you are fighting other drones, most of them beam in normally, but others are not.
On top of that, I think its time to ditch the team requirements for the so-called "Hard" missions, there is almost never anyone on the planet to team up with, if anyone even wants to do it.
This generally makes the Defera invasion zone less and less playable, and players that want to actually do the missions, most of all for an accolade, are more or less screwed.
Unless we have a team, we can not kill the rare borg that only spawns on the hard missions, but if we removed the team requirements, I think it might help bring more players back to Defera, at least some, it still needs an overhaul of some kind.
I know there are other places that need some TLC, but got to start somewhere.
I feel like there's a lot in this game like this, and as you rightly say, you have to start somwhere.
The problem I think is in how certain content gets added. Some reward is given for going to a new zone and doing some stuff, and everybody simply must have it (I don't remember if that was ever the case with Defera specifically). There will be some episodes related to it, and the place is rocking for a few weeks or months, and is actually kinda fun - yes, even the Dyson T-Rex stuff - and then when the next zone or whatever is added, the last place is a ghost town. Not 'worth' going to. Endeavours have helped somewhat with this, but even still, lots of other places are also relatively dead, and that makes whatever endeavour sent you there feel very much like a chore. It's just an unfortunate thing that happens in all or most MMOs in general I think. No shiny, no play. Beyond, dilithium, and endeavours, and maybe salvageable gear, there's not much incentive for a lot of players to go there. Even accolades, while fun to get, are a one and done type of thing.
I'd like to see lots of these kinds of places bug checked and revisited and made fun again. And losing the need for being in a team would help I think.
"So my fun is wrong?"
No. Your fun makes everyone else's fun wrong by default.

I have been asking this for years, including on the streams some time ago when they were talking about such maps and was just ignored. As for updates, there was a bug where if you died in the multilevel building you respawned with your BOFFs, and they made an effort to 'fix' that pretty quick as it was obviously a priority for them. Unfortunately it still didn't let you do missions requiring a team, but was fun for a bit.
I agree on the team requirement. as old as those missions are, they are easily solo-able, at least the temple is, as well as the city. not sure about the power plant
Powerplant would be easy with current weapons, even a few years ago it would have been.
There is no point in having a team when you consider all the abilities a single player can have, with drones, security, turrets, AOE event kits (The floor is lava) and so many others that my main toon still doesn't have.
Is it possible to reduce the requirement of the hard missions on Defera from 3 to 1 captain. The elite enemies aren't as hard as they used to be and easy enough to do by one. With the current requirement of 3, its hard to complete the accolades as the zone is normally empty.
This would likely affect. [HARD] Probe: Counter Offensive and [HARD] Power Plant: Getting to the Bottom of Things to enable completion of the Power Trip and Tyrant Lizard Slayer accolades

I, too, support the idea of removing team restrictions.
Defera missions are just a few of many examples of older content (like Fleet Alert, Starbase Incursion etc.) where you should do fine without a team, indeed. Content like this would become playable with a much higher frequency if it could be done solo.
I have no idea how big the payout is in terms of marks, but I doubt that is going to be much of an issue. There already are far more marks in the game than what's needed as many fleets don't really need them anymore.
And they're not really tied to a monetary value like dilithium is, so it wouldn't really matter for... Cryptic? They won't really lose anything if players got more marks in a shorter period of time.

Also, it just wouldn't work if the only change made would be to reduce the team size. For example, only one team can currently do Temple at a time.
In the new world, this would mean only one player could do so, which would be really frustrating.
Just a couple of thoughts
