The Assimilator, just due to it's name, should be able to use any ship console, no matter the currently implemented limitations put on the consoles.
But at bare a minimum it should be able to use the Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer & Battlecruiser consoles.
What kind of reasoning, lorewise, do these restrictions exist?
Instead of having such weak hangar pets which special ability is to assimilate, can't you make it so that we can use any hangar pet but it makes them look like the Borg hangar pets as they assimilated them fully.
Also, when will we get a liberated Alien bridge officer?
