File: Starfleet Command Report, Ships of the Line 2411.82
Subheading: Beloberth class raider
The Breloberth began development after a crayon doodle from one Lt. John T. Tardigrade was mistakenly forwarded to Utopia Planetia. Junior development staff quickly revised the design and removed ancillary facilities such as the forward impulse drive, aft bouncy castle, and trailing petting zoo. The admiralty, behind on their paperwork, quickly authorized a fleet of five test ships, four of which are now buried in the swamps of southern Missouri. Starfleet intelligence is still investigating the matter.
On initial deployment to the Iconian front lines, the Breloberth proved an astounding success as Herald vessels were incapacitated by uncontrollable laughter by their crews. Even the discovery that Beloberth shield grids were connected directly into their self destruct mechanisms proved little challenge for the class. In their most impressive hour, the AFS Abomination accidentally projectile-fired its lower command hull into a Solanae shipyard. This resulted in the destruction of the 5th and 6th Iconian Subjugation Fleets and advancement of the Abomination’s command crew to Sto’Vo’Kor (despite being Rigelian).
Today, surviving Beloberths are carefully tended by the Starfleet Corps of Engineers who report that duct tape now represents a worryingly high fraction of their super structure.
