Phoenix Prize Pack Event! Epic Token and Experimental Starship Upgrade

How many Experimental Starship Upgrade Tokens do you get from Epic Tokens? These are a lot harder to get. I have 3 of them, but they are from the first year they became available. I've never been able to get any more in years and I am a Life-time Subscriber.

    I don't know if they can be traded directly. The post only mentions lower rank tokens.

    5x Ultra-Rare Prize Tokens
    20x Very-Rare Prize Tokens
    100x Rare Prize Tokens

    You could trade in the Epic for a couple of Ultra-rare, but that seems like a waste to me.

    I've always just collected the Ship upgrades from the longer Red Alert events like the one about to start. They seem to have several though out the year.

    Ya 2.5 Golds for one T6X... not worth it. Even if you don't need anything from the epic tier. Ya never know Cryptic did add a new ship to the list I think last year. So who knows one day maybe they do add one you missed for some reason or something else. Best to hold those.

    During the Phoenix events you trade 5 x UR = 1 ship token. UR are common as dirt, you'll normally get 1-2 in every 10 pack of phoenix boxes.

    Epic should only be used for event ships, unless you have all of the event ships unlocked from doing the events or from Mudd's Market.

    Sadly, Epic tokens are bound to account, so I can't trade or gift mine on PC to someone who really wants that event ship :(

    Did they increase the requirement for them since last time they did this? I don't recall it being 5 UR tokens.

    Originally you could only get two from a single UR token, but it was way harder to get a UR token then. The rarities have been rolled up by one, and former chance to get a UR now lands you an Epic, combined on top of the old chance for an Epic (and they're still hard to get). 'Ultra Rare' now was 'Very Rare' then and would net you no T6-X, no mater how many you had. Works out to be a lot easier to get the T6-X tokens now, but makes the Epic token far less useful if you already have the ships as it went from being 4 T6-X tokens to 2/5ths of one.
