Episode "Taken by Surprise" - Low XP/Expertise Reward?

I notice that the new episode, "Taken by Surprise" only awards 3,570 experience points, 450 expertise, and no dilithium ore on a first playthrough. For comparison, the previous episode, "Wish Upon a Star" awarded 16,125 experience, 14,520 expertise, and 240 dilithium ore. (All based on Advanced difficulty.) Is this reduced reward level intentional? If so, will it be the "new normal?"
