I've been waiting for a T6 version of the Patrol Escort for a long time. The Cyclone, however, doesn't seem to have much in common with previous Patrol Escorts save for its appearance. The boff and console layout is totally different. Patrol Escorts have always been more engineering centric, making them more of an "in your face" brawler than most other escorts. They've made the Cyclone a science/stealth ship. It doesn't feel right to me.

If this is all we're getting in terms of a T6 Patrol Escort, I think I'm keeping my Fleet T5-X.

To me, the T6 versions of these ships appear to have been built on the Mirror Universe T5 versions instead of the regular versions.

That would make sense. I never liked the mirror ships.

Went ahead and picked up the fleet variant, since I had a few spare fleet modules from rep grinding. After flying it for a while, I can't say I'm happy about the console layout. It really needs at least three eng console slots.

I have gone back to my T5-X. It does have one fewer weapon slot up front and it's got the tail gun instead of the experimental slot, but at least the console layout makes sense. It's a simpler ship. And simpler is always better when you're in the thick of it.
