To merely say this season of Star Trek Picard or more appropriately named TNG Season 8 was amazing would be a grave disservice to the crew of the Enterprise-D.
As a fan of over 25 years (I'm 30) this was my generation. My dad had Kirk and Spock. I had Data, Worf and Geordi. One of my first toys was a massive Enterprise-D. Granted my namesake was because of DS9 not TNG, but that's another story. The fact this crew has stuck together so well is a testament to the ideals of Gene Roddenberry and values as Trekkies we all try and push forward. In many ways TNG was a haven for all of us to get away from the crazy 21st Century into a far more interesting and I would argue SANE 24th and to experience what this crew experienced everyday. Belonging.
My first Star Trek Movie was Generations. I finally have come full circle and it's been a hell of a ride. Its fitting how the Enterprise-D had kids aboard, they neglected to mention it was all of us kids in the 90s. For all the actors who brought these characters to life for perhaps the final time (I hope not) thanks. Its been fun growing up with you all.
