1. Where is the warning in the game that the 30-day absence of a fleet leader isn't the only way nor the quickest way to have a fleet stolen?
2. If there is more than one leader, the other can within 14 days get rid of the other.
Where is that information about the fleet system shared?
3. Also, if there is more than one leader in a fleet, and one goes crazy and starts causing havoc.
The other leaders can't do a thing to get rid of them.
There needs to be some support for this, like a fleet poll to kick a leader.
There should also be warnings about promoting people to leader rank with information that they will be a leader no matter what, as long as they want to. No matter how many others want them gone.
Can you show us all where that was posted and when?
Thank you in advance.
Am I the only one really annoyed with Cryptic recently?

Is this missing some details? As written they contradict each other.
I do know fleets are controlled by players, and Cryptic doesn't play Judge Judy when personal drama arises between those players.
There needs to be some support for this, like a fleet poll to kick a leader.
Then people would be posting about how they started a fleet, invited some new members, then those members stole the fleet by kicking them out? Fixes aren't always as simple as it seems.
The issue can be solved by having a limit on Leaders....ie one! Only ever been me as Leader in my fleet, and not once has anyone ever complained about it, and with only me having the ability to kick and promote above a certain level, there's never been an issue. Yes, I know there nefarious folk out there, but fleets don't need 5+ leaders to run smoothly.

1- The warning disappears if the leader comes online for a moment, and if you are just not online then you don't have to notice it, and if it comes online just before the timer should appear, that timer will be reset again so it cannot appear.
2- The funny thing about a fleet with several top leaders is that they will make sure that they will have more than one character in the fleet that has the highest rank so that they can protect the other with one if one of the two is lowered in rank which is shown by a counter that counts down. The one character then disables that counter.
3- If there are several leaders (and they are protected by one or more of their own other characters in the fleet that have the same rank) and one of them starts doing strange things, well... little or nothing to do about it because read point 2 again therein lies the answer.
The only solution to avoid this is what @leemwatson says, a founder of a fleet can perfectly be the only one in a fleet to have all the rights and yet a fleet can be run well with co-leaders who do NOT have ALL the rights.
But.... then the founder goes crazy, there is nothing to do about that either. But the idea of putting in a Poll or Vote system to kick out a leader or leaders is completely wrong and is going to lead to abuse from the start.
And people wonder why some players want nothing to do with fleets
It's the reason why I created my own back in 2013. I'd been in 3 different fleets with way too many leaders, requirements and unnecessary politics. There's no need for all that.

Kidding aside, the basic problem with Fleet leadership positions is this - You have to infect them with people for the Fleet to function at all. Not everyone who plays STO is a nice person or a grownup. Unfortunately, we all learn this hard way. And the Devs and Customer Support give less than a damn about internal Fleet politics.
A suggestion, OP. I'm guessing you're still in regular contact with members of your former Fleet. Is so, then all of you simultaneously Leave the Fleet in question and place the offending member on the Ignore list. I'm guessing most of the above has already been done. Next, as painful as it sounds, start a new fleet and do whatever you have to do to avoid this situation occurring a second time. @leemwatson's situation sounds autocratic from outside. But I'll bet 5 quatloos your situation will never arise in his Fleet. So his way of doing things has great merit.
Yeah, it sucks starting over. And yeah other people have probably told the same thing already. I'd like for the Customer Support Team Special Operations Task Force to be able to deus ex machina your situation back to what it was before and to permaban the individual who pulled that stunt.
While I'm at it, I'm wishing really hard for a pony for my 62d birthday as well.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
You can also go to the fleet recruitment sub-forum here if you don't feel the need to be the boss of a fleet. There are many good fleets, just like there are many good players.

Indeed, a fleet with 1 leader can seem autocratic, but I'm always careful to promote that it's a casual fleet, with minimal requirements to access the stores, no afk'ing/trolling etc....shameful promoting, I know There's nothing more demoralising to a lower rank by watch numerous folk bicker in Fleet/Armada chat over the tiniest slight. Seen it in numerous games especially when 'leaders' take things waaaaay too seriously.
Hope you have a great birthday!

The problem with a lot of fleet drama is that it's often so that only "evidence" of misdeeds is statements of the people involved which means Cryptic would have to pick a side if they wanted to do anything and Cryptic will not (they legally can't IIRC) have access to Fleet discord, forums or websites only stuff that's in-game or on this forum.
We probably can all see the issue at picking a side based on statements whose merits you have no way of knowing. Anyway Cryptic judges there would be easy to exploit and Cryptic knows this too, so unless the persons involved in said drama have clear evidence of actual ToS violations then the best course for Cryptic as sucky as that is for the victims of such drama is to do nothing at all.
As for essentially giving back the old fleet for those who ask for it again it would demand good evidence for it or it would be exploitation central with people getting free max level fleets just by claiming their fleet got stolen even though they never had a fleet to begin with or got kick for a reason.
While it would be lovely if we could permaban people who steal fleets but the things is that there really isn't a viable way of doing that unless you catch it early enough (and the person is stupid enough) that there's loads of evidence against that person.
This went from asking a simple question to clarify an issue, back to the same Fleet drama that got your last thread shut down, OP. You were advised and the rest of your members warned not to attempt to continue this behavior in this forum. /Thread
