Would it be possible to revamp the under-the-hood ship name & registry system, so the game checks for matching name and registry together, not just matching names? (i.e. IF name AND registry vs. IF name)
For example, if you're coming from 2256 or 2270 and your starter was the USS Banana NCC-1234, your next ship being the NCC-1234-A isn't doable unless you change the ship name in some manner.
Seems like it would (in theory) be a relatively straight-forward QoL update.....in theory.
