There are multiple problems in game now that are affecting both new and veteran players.
First off, the Dilithium exchange is maxed out which means it usually takes weeks to get zen through it. We really need another permanent Dilithium sink in game now. Major Dilithium sinks such as fleet star-bases aren’t doing the job any more since most are maxed out or have stagnated.
Second off, there is not much else to do once you complete all the missions and max out your reps. Besides buying new ships to try out or just starting a new toon and rinse and repeat the cycle.
Third off, which is a big one in my opinion is that 90% of all Star Trek shows take place inside the starship. But with how STO is designed you can’t do that because of all the different ships in game. Don’t get me wrong I love all the ships. But with so many you can see why the game can’t be a bit more like the shows.
Forth off, is that you can’t show off all of your in-game accomplishments with other players or even friends in game besides just seeing your accolade score.
Last off, there is no place in game that you can call your own besides your starship bridge.
So here is my proposal/solution/content idea to solve many of these problems. So here it is: When you reach max rank or when you max out your reps, whatever works best you unlock the option to start building your own personal star-base (Call it an Admirals base). Much like how fleets build fleet star bases. You would start out at level 1 and start pouring in resources like dilithium, ec, rep marks, duty officers etc… to start leveling up your base. You could even have things like you need to complete this storyline mission to unlock this item...
At different levels you could start to unlock things that you would usually see in the interior of the ships in the tv shows. You would start out with a general area and start unlocking things like crew quarters, the mess, a lounge like 10 forward, shuttle bay, sick bay, engineering, holodecks, astrometrics, etc…
Of course, there would need to be different vendors on the station for different items, just like other locations in the game.
You could do lots of things with this idea. You could keep the design of the star base universal for all players so that everyone has the same layout, but you could decorate it as your own with your own stuff like trophies you earned in game, custom colours, assign bridge officers to different areas, give them their own quarters, etc …
With a universal layout for all, cryptic could start making end game missions that would take place with some inside your star base just like inside the starships on the show.
You could allow people on your friends list the option of visiting your star base whenever they want without an invitation. That way they could explore your friend’s star-bases to see their customizations, unlocks and accomplishments.
I think this idea would address a lot of issues that the game has to deal with and it give players and the devs another creative outlet.
P. S. every space Barbie needs a space Barbie’s dream house lol

been asked for many, many, many times. the excuse is no that is what ship interiors are for, and no they will not just do something like that for ship interiors instead, because no one uses them. and yes they know why that is but they are not going to do anything about it.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

Yeah, you can't do it with ship interiors, because of all of the different ships in the game. It would be impossible to create an interior for each ship. I get that, but with a personal star base system with a universal layout, you could actually make content for that. There is a reason no one uses starship interiors. There is nothing to do in them, but if they created a system like the one I outlined above it could work as a useful personal interior for missions and other content that I covered in my post.

The problem with ship interiors or a personal base for story episodes and TFOs is that yes, a lot of episode tine happens in them, but that time is spent on drama, crying* and technobabble. The action part is generally in space or by an away team which is (surprise) away from the ship on a planet, base, whatever. The new show is Strange New Worlds not "strange new room on deck 15".
Space Barbie is the real endgame so I'm fine with the idea of player housing even if ship interiors would make more sense, but I don't think that creating more than one or two story episodes set there is going to work.
Yes, you can point to episodes set entirely in a ship's interior (AKA the cost-cutting low budget episodes) but that wasn't the main focus of the TV shows.
As I also noted in the thread about the Dilithium Exchange:
"I've noticed only recently, in the last week or two that the ZEN backlog is slowly declining! It was almost over 4.2 million (a month or so earlier) before and just getting closer to only 3.09 million perhaps. I'd like to think the admiralty REROLL, as well as the endeavor REROLL are helping at least a little!"
I posted that perhaps a week ago. Today I noticed the backlog slightly down to about 2.75 million or less. So the Admiralty and Endeavor REROLL's purchased with Dilithium are working. It's not drastic or going to correct it overnight.
Still while I think one way to address it might be expanding the Tier III Fleet Holding out to IV; it also could be something to update one every 1 or 2 years for the next 5 to 10. It also require far less work to slightly only update some maps, while perhaps expanding a few option to purchase, at each Fleet Holding too! So this is better than design something entirely new as it takes a lot more work!
I'm sure they'd keep that in mind, for now people just have to be a bit more patient.
Or, when you unlock the system, it’s all the same layout, but you choose between 4 different “visuals.”
1. Discovery Era
2. TOS Era
3. TNG Era
4. 2409 Era

People would also want KDF, Romulan, Dominion, and a few would want Terran, Ferengi, (other races)

Honestly KDF, Romulan and Dominion are something that I could easily see as justified as those are people's default ships, that said I don't see TNG era on the other hand as justified as there's really that much difference from the 25c interior (mainly different door and LCARS colors), while DSC and TOS eras are very different from the 25c FED era in terms of the look they have.
