Four years ago, I had
speculated as to how the existing Breen-themed personal equipment (weapon and shield) could be expanded into a full-fledged ground set (for which Soldat d'Hiver seemed a fitting name), in the same way the
Breen Absolute Zero set was rounded out with a core. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we will be getting a full (weapon/shield/armor/frame) cryo-themed ground set courtesy of
Q's Winter Wonderland.
With respect to this new set, a few things come to mind:
- the pistol appears to act like a mini-CRM - could the set be coded to allow for this or the actual CRM to count as the 'weapon'?;
- does the resistance debuff from the 3-piece bonus simply refresh its duration with subsequent applications, or refresh and stack (to a definite max count)?
- a similar question could be asked of the ablative shield - does it have a fixed duration, albeit one which refreshes with each 'heal'. or does it simply last for the duration of combat?
- on the subject of alternate weapons, why not add one with an exploiting alt-fire? This could allow players who so wish to kit out complete away teams with this set, giving the boffs the exposing weapons and using the exploiters themselves.
- if the new nanopulse bat'leth does, as one might imagine from its name an appearance, deal cold damage, why not allow it to count towards the set too? And, in the interest of choice, why not have a similar lirpa and sword as options?

The Kef'een ship. For those who need a pick me up.
What would a ship capable of using all breen and kef'lhri consoles be like in combat. Adding unconventional systems to it might be interesting.
