Im playing with windowed maximized mode and a mild case of OCD. It might not be a thing for most players but for me its really annoying.
Every time a (unskippable) cutscene plays, during a mission, warp out/in, beaming in/out, the game locks the cursor so I cant use it on other screens. This alone is not really troubling. Its just mildly annoying. But combined with the loading screens that requires the game to be in focus to continue automatically which usually happens after warp/beam in/out its really annoying.
Neither requires any interaction and is unnecessary trapping in this form. I dont like sitting around when I could do something productive on my second screen in that time. Especially when I have to wait for the TFO to start and dont need to fiddle with my ship or char in any way. And when I enter a social zone there is even less of a reason for the loading screen to not proceed automatically.
Someone suggested this mechanic was to make life difficult for botters. If this existed only when entering TFOs I would maybe accept that. But for any other map change I just cant. It makes no sense.
Imagine going into a TFO.
Accept invite -> random waiting time for the other group members to accept-> five second unskippable warp/beam out cutscene -> random waiting time during loading screen -> automatic end of loading screen if game in focus -> five second warp/beam in cutscene -> wait up to 45 until begin of TFO
Half the time I get a disconnect at the loading screen part for unknown reasons so that part is much longer quite often. Kind of tripple annoying. Even without the disconnects, it feels like Im trapped during the above, sitting there and stare at the screen. Sometimes it just feels so long.
I can hit the windows key for the start menu to come up so my cursor is free to click someone on the second screen so I can do something while the game does its thing. I could also hit ALT + Tab but half the time it jumps to the wrong window in the heat of the moment. Neither should be necessary.
Its just one of the many things I like to see disappear from the game.
