Converting Dilithium to Zen

So after this coming Upgrade Weekend, I'm finally at the point where I'm down to almost nothing to spend dilithium on and it's time to convert it to Zen.
Here and there, I've seen/heard "converting dilithium isn't worth it," but at the same time the "Buying Zen" page always seems to be blank, saying that either no one's selling dil for Zen or it goes quick once listed. As a noob to dilithium conversion, what's the scoop?

The dil supply is far greater than the demand for it from people willing to spend zen. Thanks to admiralty, bonus dil from events and so on many people like you have more dil than they need. There are also dedicated farmers who create a bunch of alternate characters and grind hard to generate 8,000 x eleventy refined dil per day.
People are still spending zen for dil, but because of the over-supply you need to put your dil into the exchange then wait for the backlog of dil mountain to be shoveled away by the buyers. They'll get to your dil eventually.
Right now you won't see a singe Zen for less than 500 Dil. As long as you're okay with that conversion; put the amount you want up, and within 48 hours to 3-5 days, you should have the Zen you want.
I'm one of those people with tons of Dil - and just got the new Steamrunner Bundle for 3250 Zen all converted from Dil.
(As long as you have a week notice, you can usually convert what you need by the time something new you want hits the C-Store.)
