Please, for the love of all that is holy....
Give your consolebase an option to disable any/all notifications when it comes to your chat/gameplay alerts system.
It is becoming incredibly obnoxious to see CONSTANT fly-ins concerning ship-rewards for a player I don't care about or seeing friends log on/off CONSTANTLY at the top of my screen. I've dealt and put up with it for so long, but now it's gotten to the point where now it has annoyed me so much, that I'm actually posting my complaint about this on the official forums. And I am not someone who even posts on forums if at all, or ever.
As I said, the alerts are CONSTANT and there is ZERO way to disable them on console. Please, for the love of god Cryptic, throw us a bone here.

But if so, I believe it is the System channel that displays the announcements. Disabling it means you lose things such as Mission Complete statements and the like, but nothing too critical most of the time and you can always re-enable it for specific TFOs etc where you might need to track mission progress notifications.
