Acquiring the D7 Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier

As the post says, I would like to acquire this ship, and I want to make sure I understand my possibilities.

(1) I can get it through the current event, which requires 3500 points.
(2) I could buy it off the exchange (there aren't any available for EC but in theory this is a possibility)
(3) According to sto.gamepedia, "Players can obtain this starship from a [Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack], which are available during special promotional events."

Final Question: Where do I find these "Special Requisition Choice Packs"? And how do I know when the promotional events will be underway?

Those are your three options.

The choice packs drop either from doff packs or rnd packs during promotional events. Sadly the chance for a drop out of them is 0,4% or something. You can get the respective doff and rnd packs in the zen store on the exchange.

Exchange is were I got my D7 when the last promo started. Price was 1,5B. The lowest I have seen was days later at 1,45B. If none are available there are some trading channels where they are handled for 1,6-2B ec.

The ship is awesome. If I would not have it already the current meta event would be the way to go for me.

Those packs are a very, very, VERY rare drops from special "Research and Development Pack"s you can find on the C-Store. Those packs are called "Infinity Promotion! - Research & Development Pack" during special events and the C-Store tells you when they're changed to those.

You can find "Infinity Promotion! - Research & Development Pack"s on the exchange but I wouldn't recommend even trying to acquire a "Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack" from them, due to how rare the drop is.

Finally, you can't buy those "Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack"s from the exchange or elsewhere because they're bound on character if you get one from an "Infinity Promotion! - Research & Development Pack". It only stops being character-bound if you choose a specific promotional ship pack from it, which can be the D7 or other promo ships.

TL;DR: C-Store's "Research and Development Pack"s become "Infinity Promotion! - Research & Development Pack"s during specific time periods, can be traded or sold in that form, and can rarely grant you a "Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack" that can't be traded, but can turn into a pack containing a promo ship like the D7 MW FDC.

Thanks everyone for confirming this information. As @peterconnorfirst says, I think the meta event is going to be my best option. It's a cool ship. I'll keep enjoying my Vengeance until I can get the D7 through the meta event.
