Ship entering combat when team-mates do

I'm using the Cardassian Detapa Intel Escort on my new KDF character and during any TFO when the 1st team-mate opens fire I automatically enter combat even if I'm not in range of any enemy.
Because some ships are extremely fast and arrive immediately near enemies, it may take quite a long time for me to crawl to an enemy area. Did not happen yet, but I may even get AFK penalty.
What can cause this bug ?
