How can Cryptic improve the bundle?

So we hate it, almost universally. Lets give Cryptic some ideas on where to improve the bundle to the point that you'd actually buy it, without pushing back the release.

My ideas:

Option 1: Lower the price point from $250 to $150.
Option 2: Remove the T6 ship coupons, the keys, the promo packs. Put in an infinity T6 ship box and a promo ship box.
Option 3: Add a Just the Ships option for $120.
Option 4: Add in the Legendary K'tinga/D7 that is almost certainly being worked on, just as an IOU since its unlikely that its ready yet.

Sell the ships separately for a reasonable price of 30$ tops. Everything else, in my opinion, is not a good way to approach ship sales. The bundles are almost never worth the money as they are just full of worthless filler garbage to artificially justify the inflated price.

As you said, the only way to halfway justify this 4-ship bundle to cost the same as a 10-ship bundle is to include a lockbox/promo ship choice - with account unlock, though. Otherwise no way to improve this, if you ask me.

Those are all great ideas, but unfortunately.. I don’t get the impression that Cryptic is really interested in changing it.

They believe they know what will sell, and apparently feedback on sites like this and Reddit isn’t necessarily an indication of how well an item will sell. Now of course, none of us can ever verify this since Cryptic does not publish sales data and won’t allow someone like Kael to comment on it so we will just have to go by what we see in game.

I think your ideas are great to be honest.. every one is a solid upgrade to the pack. Of all the options, I think #2 is the best for everyone because it would let Cryptic maintain that high price point while making it worth while to the player. The big drawback with that option is of course.. the D7 everyone wants. This option would get you a D7 but only for one character where Fed players got a Constitution (2 of them actually) that are account wide.

I would say the best option would be #2 and #4 together. Maybe remove the Infinity box from option 2 and just do 1 promo box ship and in IOU on the D7.

Excellent ideas, but sadly I believe they will fall on deaf ears. I will be curious to see how many of these ships I see once the pack drops. I have been wrong before, I honestly thought the 10 ship pack would be a bust because of the price tag and boy was I ever wrong. The day that pack dropped those ships were pretty much everywhere. I will be anxious to see how many of these new ships I see when the pack goes live.

    Good ideas.

I'll probably buy the thing as is, only because I already have the zen for it and I've been eager for 3/4 of those ships as legendaries. The only other ship I'd really want as a legendary is the D'deridex which may never come, so what else am I going to spend zen on?

I'm very conscious its a bad deal, though. The terrible deal that it is will ensure I won't buy any more zen for a few years unless they fix it, and if I miss the D'd because of it, well that's going to suck but that is how it will go.

That is something their mindless metrics won't tell them, unfortunately.

The 10 ship bundle worked because it was basicly all the iconic ships, even a KDF fanbois like me appreciated the classics like Archer's Enterprise and the TOS Connie.

Ambassador? It's a ship with virtualy no real presence in the TV show, just 6 episodes and one of those it was a wreck and in a second a picture of it's saucer on a computer screen.

Excelsior has even less screen time but is, arguably, more iconic. For me it's worth it just for being Sulu's command at Khitomer.

The call back to the Enterprise series' BoP in the Legendary B'rel skin is very much appreciated.

The thing is they could of done a bundle that was KDF exclusive and still would of sold.

    D7
    B'rel
    D5
    Vorcha
    Negh'var

    It's not rocket science

Ditch the Fed ships and T6 Tokens, add the D7 and Negh'var and the Bortasqu' and offer a pack without the fluff like they did with the original. The price is absurd compared to the original.

Three, actually; original, Disco, and Kelvin. The D7 also has those variations.
