Im just so happening to paly another game that not only has undo options but will even let try things BEFORE you buy
Oh and thats another thing. If you have to buy something
a game SHOULD be design were you can undo
in fact it should be manitary for something thats paid
But like I said I have IDEAS I WANT TO TRY BUT NOW I CERTIANLY CAN'T
I think paying to repec it wrong even more so in this situation there is NO PROTECTION
Im just trying to slowly vent so to be more positive and show good faith here is my reccomendation to fix this...PERMANTLY
When you click repec
"This will reset X and X skills, are you sure you want to use a free respec? You have: 2"
Clicking yes...
When you close the window it will again (safe than sorry!!!)
"Are you sure you want to SAVE this (because its been repec)"
"You will NOT BE ABLE TO UNDO if you close skill tree window"

I was working on a build. Doing research on builds and whatnot. I click respec expecting to see cost/tokens or at least how many I could do for free. NOPE, it respec without warning or even a window...Then I thought great how many do I have. Noticed it was grayed out so I did one upgrade and it was blue again. Then noticed it said I had no tokens left. So I clicked it again cuz I don't have any so it won't even matter. It then respec AGAIN only to find out I had 2 respec which it never told me. I was improving, now I'm royally f**ked. So either does it and know what you HAD or never do it and not understand the system. I can tell you right now it's extremely flawed. First off I never used repect before and I have over 2,000hrs because I like improving. But I never understood or was taught the system. The worst part? I never saw a save button or an undo button as I didn't exit. My build is beyond screwed up. All because of a majorly flawed system that was designed to TRIBBLE me over and I fell into it because I like learning.....That's just evil (where is the undo!?!?)
This happened because your skills were rendered invalid due to a recent patch and a respec was required.
Normally if you click the respec button it will tell you how many you have available.
There's no way you could have known. It happened to everybody.
There never has been an undo button with the current system so it can help to plan out your skill tree ahead of time using a tool like the sto academy skill planner.
If you need any help with making your next skill tree a thing of beauty I'm sure you'll get lots of help here.
Get some advice if needed, take your time, and have a plan.
All of my skills seem to have survived. My skill trees are still populated. I haven't tried hitting the button though to see if I get a free respec though. Then again, as a lifer, I should still have plenty of free respecs available.
