The Chancellor came to me not long after the Alliance settled the Iconian War for a solution to make sure we have a fleet that can accommodate our needs - quickly. The Chancellor gave me a limited budget, and could not tie up the shipyards - in other words, make the best of what you have and bring me some revolutionary prototypes. (No pressure.) Under my command I have a squadron of refitted B'rels that are due for refitting. I decided to make the following modifications so the Bird of Prey can maintain it's edge as a behind the lines recon, but also as a command ship for small groups that lacks a capital ship such as cruisers or carriers, and other roles as needed for the Empire.
Base stats are the Fleet B'rel Bird-of-Prey
- Fleet B'rel Bird-of-Prey Reconnaissance Raider
- Removed the Experimental Weapon for a Inhibiting Secondary Deflector
- Converted the Lieutenant Commander Universal station to a dedicated Lieutenant Commander Science/Intelligence
- Modified the power relay to +20 auxiliary power from +15 weapons power and +5 auxiliary power
- Replaced an engineering console with a science console (Tac: 4; Eng: 3; Sci: 4)
- Added subsystem targeting
- Fleet B'rel Bird-of-Prey Command Raider
- Removed the Experimental Weapon to add an extra engineering console (Tac 4; Eng 5; Sci: 3); increased hull plating (increased hull strength by 1.5%) and secondary shield emitters (+1% resistance to incoming drains)
- Converted the Lieutenant Commander Universal station to a dedicated Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Miracle Worker
- Modified the power relays to +10 shield power, +5 auxiliary power, and +5 engine power from +15 weapons power and +5 auxiliary power
- Added Command level controls: Weapon System Efficiency; Shield Frequency Modulation; Strategic Maneuvering; Attract Fire
- Fleet B'rel Bird-of-Prey Singularity Raider
The Romulan Singularity core has some fascinating properties that can be incorporated and used to magnify the offensive capabilities of the Empire's Raider fleet; however, the conversion to fit the singularity core into the B'rel exposes some minor limitations:
- Converted the Lieutenant Commander Universal station to a dedicated Lieutenant Commander Universal/Command
- Modified singularity core abilities: Plasma Shockwave (range is reduced to 4km radius); Quantum Absorption (temporary hit points for 25 seconds; immediate shield heal over time for 10 seconds); Warp Shadow (duration 10 seconds); Singularity Jump (cooldown: 50 seconds); Singularity Overcharge (Rank I: 5 second duration; Rank II: 6.25 second duration; Rank III: 7.5 second duration; Rank IV: 8.75 second duration; Rank V: 10 second duration)
