Two Questions...

kstudioskstudios Member Posts: 34 Arc User
What are the odds of the recruitment event ever coming back? I'd very much like to have a Temporal Agent. Seems a tad unfair that it's a one-time thing.

Secondly...

What are the odds of the "Sons of None; Best Served Cold Tour, 2410" T'Shirts becoming real merchandise thing? If made right I'd buy and wear that!

I'd probably put the shirt with the rest of my meager collection of band tour shirts, just to really throw someone off who was rifling through them, lol.

Low, unless they can find away to appease KDF only players. Considering the majority play as Feds, I don't really see a legitimate reason to not run it as most of the real benefits are account-wide.

perhaps they could make a new kdf tutorial (or tweak the old) so they can have their own temporal recruits. Surely all we need is a brief cut-scene or two to get the transponder, and good to go

Well, the Delta Recruitment event from 2015 returned to pc in 2018 and appeared for the first time on consoles as well. The Agents of Yesterday Temporal Recruitment occurred on pc in 2016 and was added to consoles in 2017, so that one "might" make a return ... maybe? Gamma recruitment for all versions has already occurred twice as well!

Honestly, why KDF players weren't allowed to create a unique original series era character during Agents of Yesterday, perhaps a survivor from Kor's ship, didn't make any sense to me at the time and frankly the logic proffered by Cryptic for not having done so is ridiculous too.

I imagine that you will get a chance at some point down the road, but I have a hard time thinking that they are willing to expand the event contents with new stuff and we also seem to be maxed out on additional factions.

Actually, the logic is sound for why KDF wasn't included in AoY, which is basically the friction at the time between the two factions. Considering the KDF of the time actively sought battle with the Federation, an 'Agent' probably wouldn't pay attention to a 'future' KDF temporal officer, and would seek to further the goals of the Klingon Empire of that time, rather than preserving a 'future' timeline where they become allies (time and again). Given Klingons love for 'honour', it would be a dishonour if they didn't use knowledge of the future to the singular benefit of the Klingon Empire.

In the case of the Delta Recruits, this wasn't the case because it was yourself that gave you the orders, but not AoY, and we've already seen the attitude of ToS (Discovery) Klingons in our current timelines, which, as I said, is why the logic is sound.

I'm not worried about the logistics of it from an ingame lore standpoint, lol. I just want a Temporal Agent. x'D

Besides, the KDF do have a temporal rep in the great hall, mere feet from the Romulan ambassador.

That was put in at the time of the Delta Recruit event, which was open to all factions (in fact, you had to play three Delta Recruits - one each of Fed, Rom, and KDF, if you wanted to unlock all of the possible account rewards.) The Temporal and Gamma reclaims were simply added to the existing officer.

Creating a KDF version of Temporal Recruit would be a lot more than simply enabling something at that officer... in order to earn the rewards AS a KDF officer they would need to edit the goals into episodes, which would have to be separate from the Fed version as most (all?) of the existing Fed ones are in faction specific episodes.

I've just had a horrifying thought.......Temporal Recruit can't be even be re-run until the removed Fed episodes have returned, as some of those goals are in them.

I've suggested before they use modern KDF to go back in time and spy/stop a plot/whatever rather than using a period Klingon and bring them forward. In fact the Klingon civil war actually lends itself greatly to such a scenario. It would even let them include Orions, Nausicaans and the rest of the gang if they used surgical disguises, and would let them reuse part or all of the AOY missions with some dialogue changes.
