Omni Arrays and ship gear sets

It makes little sense to me that you can't equip, say, the Quantum Phase Dual Heavy Cannons and the Quantum Phase Beam Array at the same time, or that you can't equip more than one Omni Array and one CRAFTED Omni Array at the same time. This really should be changed, as there really isn't a detriment to equipping them, and I can't think of a valid reason for the current restrictions.

For the set weapons it's probably a back end limitation of some kind. Like having more than one causes issues with the special properties.

For other special weapons it's probably a balance issue. Like having 5 quad phaser cannons.

Then again you can have multiple aux cannons so maybe it's arbitrary.

An all Omni ship would be interesting, you would have no dps blind spots

It would be an ideal loadout for a carrier, or having three Omnis on the back of an escort.

Technically you can if you use the borg omni.
