I did buy this game about 10 years ago, played it for a month or two, got tired of it and never really looked back.

Now? I'm trying it and really digging it. There is an undeniable repetitive nature to the actual structure of the gameplay itself (blow up a lot of ships! now more! now beam down and phaser a lot of people to death, quick! oh no, here comes another wave! etc. you know... kind of... eh, a little un-Star Trek-like in that way, but I get it... it's a game, it has to be engaging) but the STORIES are really compelling. This is being written by people who care, real Star Trek fans, and it shows. So many TNG, DS9, VOY vets were brought back to do voices... it's like saying hi to old friends, in complicated new adventures. The Iconian plotline in itself is brilliant.

Even the stuff I don't care much for, like "Discovery" and "Picard" and the Abrams stuff... they bring it into this and somehow find a way to make it work and seem fairly organic. And that's an impressive feat. I feel like the writers are going, "I know, I know... but check this out. How about now?" I dig that.

Indeed. I like the latest interplay of canon characters too. Ever since Victory of life dropped they've seemed to have stepped up the story-telling (stories backed up by CBS I might add), which has included aborted content from recent series.

I'm hoping for a re-introduction of the old Fed 2409 content (removed to be updated), as they need more meat on their individual arc(s). Roms and KDF have a huge amount of 'original' content in comparison now.

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
