"Connection to the server timed out. Please try again later"........I started playing at 0200 this morning, it is now 0700, 5 times "Connection to the server timed out. Please try again later" This is TRIBBLE. You know the problem, but YOU refuse to fix it. One step away from calling buddy in the FTC(Federal Trade Commission) and BCP( Bureau of Consumer Protection) and see what they say.
"Nuke the entire site from orbit--it's the only way to be sure"
I reported something similar to this a couple of months ago and while it may not be as bad as it was at that time, it certainly continues for me as well. However I would experience this anywhere between say eight and ten times, finally get a character up and start running an event or playing content ..... then suddenly "poof" I was bounced right back to the starting screen and another round of rinse and repeat???? I lost out on a lot of event stuff in the past couple of months due to the frustration of this ongoing glitchy TRIBBLE.
I figure some of it is due to the gang working from home, but Cryptic seriously has no quality control department to verify their games viability. Hopefully it's either that or those tasked with keeping tabs on this type of thing are just not competent in the first place? Reporting it does not seem to goad or prompt them to determine what is going on.

Not sure if Cryptic actually *could* do anything about wobbly connections on their own. There are too many things factoring into connectivity. ISP's routing signals from A to B over C, D, E and more can simply cause serious packet-loss.

Yep, but this game is the only one I have problems with. connects, rubberbanding, lag. I play 5 or 6 other games including Star Citizen, no problems there.

That still doesn't mean Cryptic can change it just like that. That's not a bug, it's a combination of general connection AND the problems with STO's engine when it comes to netcode. In essence, they either had to change their whole infrastructure OR make a new engine.
Easy peasy, right? Can be done in mere minutes... oh.

aut vincere aut mori pro imperio
either to conquer or to die for the Empire

I cannot log into the account server. Is there anything wrong with the account server?
Shard maintenance.
well normally the account server isn't shut down. Is it shut down because of the unormally large shard maintenance.
