Why can they not announce non-flash sales ahead of time!!!!

In the past week I spent about $120 on keys, and now they are doing a sale with a key ring bundle... if they had mentioned this sale last week i would have waited and gotten 6 key rings, which meant 6 ultimate upgrades and had zen left over.... so freaking frustrating!!!!

Sorry for the short rant, but did they ever say WHY they hide these things? Do they just do them spur of the moment?

    I don't know how long you have played for, but any sales were alway announced on the Thursday of when they start.

    It is like that in almost any other game or other retails like Steam or Walmart, they announced sales when they go on sale, no advanced announcements.

    Why did you buy keys when they were not on sale.

    You knew sales would happen, you chose not to wait for them.

    How to save money:

    Wait to buy Zen when there is a charge bonus.

    Wait to buy keys and packs when they are on sale.

    If you want a ship and don't care about the lobi or other lock box loot, consider selling keys or packs and buying the ship for credits on the Exchange. 100% chance of success, no gambling.

    Most games announce sales only when the go live, and STO has been following this format for years.

    Best things to do is hold onto cash and ZEN and wait for a sale, because they come fairly often.

    Cause they’re in the business of making money. If they announce the sale, then people will wait until the sale to spend (ultimately) less. It’s the same everywhere.

    yeah, i do understand all that, it was just frustrating and i used the forum to vent.... the charge bonus and key sales are incredibly random and i have impulse control issues.....

    since this is admittedly a rant thread it must be closed. With that said, as a rule of thumb for future endeavors, they typically always do a sale of some kind when releasing a new box or updating one. sucks that you didn't get to buy during the sale but that's going to happen from time to time.
