Recently, I played the Elachi Red Alert mission. Instead of charging in to attack, I chose to outrun the NPC science ships to help disable the gateway.
I was with a really good team... I helped to close the gate while my team destroyed the Elachi. When the gate was closed, I charged in to help kill the remaining two Elachi ships... but, they were destoyed before I could send even a shot across their bows.
The result? No reward for me, because the AI decided that I was afk.
Irritating. Not just because of the lack of reward, but also because of the mandatory cooldown.
Can the lack of programmed appreciation for the players who choose a support role be looked into, and reevaluated?
