Are PC and Console on different servers?

I've been playing on Xbox One for a few years, and My daughter also recently opened an account on xbox. We don't have separate consoles, so we have to take turns.
I recently resurrected my old STO PC account, and I'm wondering if there is a way to interact with my daughter. We have tried but didn't work. I'm assuming they are on different servers and never the two shall meet, but thought I'd check.

Yes, they are on different servers. Consoles can only interact with other console players, same for PC players.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

even if you play xbox on a PC?

There are no Xbox1 emulators for PC that support Xbox Live.

PC, PS4, Xbox are separate servers, separate clients, and there is no way for them to interact with each other. It also is not possible to transfer an account from one platform to another.

By purchasing specific Xbox games through Xbox Live, you are allowed the ability to download them onto a Windows 10 PC via the Microsoft Store. However, this doesn't work with most games, including STO. It's mostly for games that Microsoft owns and develops. It's also part of a long term strategy to offer customers more perceived benefits in the hope that they'll choose Xbox over Playstation.

windows 10 has some xbox stuff installed on it with the OS. i dont use any of it, usually delete it, so not sure how it all works, but

All that does is remote control your XBox. If you played your XBox using your PC, you're playing the XBox version of STO.

Only MMO I know that has combinied console and PC versions is FF14 and it was built from the ground up to be that way (you can even enable controller UI for the PC version if you want).

So yeah STO does have seperate PC and console servers (also IIRC even the clients(meaning the program) are different).

Phantasy Star Online 2 is cross-play for Xbox and PC too.

so was Everquest which had alot of problems - Also FF11 was cross-platform when I played 11 I had a friend in the linkshell (their guilds) there that played on xbox. If I recall sony is the one that prevented the cross-platform for STO.
