Dillithium Weekend when is it? And who messes up the dates all the time?

doctorstegidoctorstegi Member Posts: 1,222 Arc User
Always for event and others things dates are messed up, on thing says this the blog says something else. So again the question when is actually the Dillithium Weekend and how can the dates be messed up that many times?

Came here to post this. It definitely seems like there is a comms breakdown between the in game calendar and the website. ;)

Well, it all depends if a Dilitium Weekend means the Weekend, or it really had the underlying meaning of a Dilithium Week.

I could get behind that. They've been doing week long bonus events for a while in Neverwinter.

I have a question: I sent one of my toons to the Vlugta Mining Asteroid the public one not the fleet one. I have (5) of the VIP Mining Tokens, my toon is level 65, I'm wearing a mining outfit, but the Ferengi npc doesn't offer the VIP mining option for this toon? Is there some prerequisite mission I have to do & I've forgot? I had leveled this toon mostly by Patrols so not many story-line missions completed. Thanks in advance for any help & information.

The most likely answer is that the blog is correct when it comes to weekend events. Guess we'll know for sure when the servers come back up after the patch.

Which Ferengi NPC? The female in the airlock, I forget her name, is the only place I've ever been able to access the VIP Mining Mission from. The Ferengi in the EVA Suit outside is who I've always turned the VIP Mining Token in to.

    It's the opposite actually.

The in game calendar is correct, the information posted by our "Community Manager" is.. as always.. wrong.

A couple of my other toons it is acting normal like this, but for (1) of my toons I cannot get the mission it seems. That's why I was asking about if there's any prereqquisites I've forgotten about.

That's not usually true at all. I know that there was one case recently of a blog post going up for a weekend event that then got switched, but the number of times that the calendar has been wrong over the past couple of years is in the dozens. There are definitely problems with some announcement blogs being incomplete, or having butchered grammar, or even incorrect information about the details, but they are right about which thing they are announcing about 99% of the time. The calendar, especially in the last couple of years, is wrong a lot, like well over 10% of the time.

Again, we'll see when the game comes back up.

It shows the current month and the next. When you go to your Mission Page (default 'J' Key), look at the Bottom Left, there is a Calendar Button.

720 dilithium for a Borg Red Alert. Sure seems like it's a dilithium event.

Looking back, the last discrepancy, and the only one that we can still check, was the weekend beginning April 30th. Calendar had nothing, blog said upgrade event. Blog was correct as there was an upgrade event that weekend. As I said above, there are definite problems with blogs, but they are way more reliable about what event is going to happen than the calendar is.

Last time we were supposed to have a Dilithium Weekend it was actually a Junior Officer Event from the Calender. This time, it was the blog that was right.

I guess 'Cryptic' loves to live up to their name.. you just always have to guess what's actually right. It happens all the time and they still just don't care enough to even attempt to fix it.

    Sad.

They flipped because they decided that Junior Officers Weekend would go better with an Duty Officers Promotion. Snap decision on an Infinity Promotion leads to an Event to sell more Store stuff.

We had too many of those lately.

The calendar now says what the blog says. Given the previous errors, the fact that we have a seven day dilithium event would in some way make-up for the fact that the confusion, amounting to lack of notice, meant that you didn't know whether or not to hand-in contraband, or do other dilithium assignments, before the event started, on order to get the benefit as soon as the event began.

I've always just double-clicked on the claim to get the 'accept mission' dialogue, then talked to the guy on the asteroid to turn it in. Never bothered with the NPC inside.

Interesting, I've never tried that but will attempt, thanks for the idea.

Again, thanks for that suggestion. It didn't work but it did give me the information to understand why that character had the problem.

For Romulan characters they must complete the mission: "Bigger Picture" before being able to utilize the VIP mining tokens.
