R&D - Is there a good link to explain how to do this stuff?

So I'm thinking of buying the R&D 4 pack because I really want to get the La Sirena, but whether I get the ship or not, I'm going to have a lot of R&D stuff on my hands and that's part of the game I've really never had time to learn. Can anyone direct me to a good tutorial on how this crafting stuff works?

It's pretty much self-explanatory. The system tells you exactly what you need for each item or project.

Thanks for the info. After researching, I may just get the pack of Duty Officers instead. That may be something I'd use more.
