Lost missions

There have been a number of missions that have ether been removed from the game or some how lost. I recently was looking for the mission arc that involved The Guardian Of Forever to play. Mostly for reasons of nostalgia. anyone else missing the old school mission?

Could be put back them as side missions, or as holo novels.

It's been a wait and see situation for quite some time regarding some missions that may or may not be returning in some form.

Of course with the way the world is right now all their previous plans are probably a little bit up in the air.

The two Guardian and two Kuvah'magh Episodes were pulled to be redone and eventually put back. Its been almost a year and a half now and they are not back.

    There, offending statement corrected.

17.5 Months to be precise. OK. Two years will be upon us and they still won't be back.

Well, even more years ago they revamped the Klingon War Arc and removed a number of Missions like 'Saturdays Child'. They revamped the Romulan Mystery Arc and removed a number of Missions and redid some Missions. They revamped the Borg and Undine Arcs, removed some and combined them into one, Borg Arc. Finally, they revamped the beginning of the Cardassian Arc, removed some Missions and redid other Missions.

They also dropped the Patrol Wrappers in the Delta Arc then later returned some of those Wrappers with the introduction of the 'Reimagined' Patrol System.

    There, offending statement clarified.

Anyone remember the old mission with Thomas Riker's son? Can't remember the name for the life of me. I do miss Saturday's Child, as it gave some weight to the OG, Fleet Admiral Leonard James Akaar, whom they also took out of the game. Also the Guardian mission assets should certainly be re-used, even if they aren't tied to Miral Paris anymore. That is a classic Trek theme that needs to be brought back.

Speaking of old, I kind of miss Memory Alpha, even though it was solely for crafting. Would have still made an interesting social place, but seeing how the Captain's Table for us lifers is practically useless and hasn't been updated for anything, it's probably for the best.

'Originally released with the Delta Rising expansiion. All Delta Quadrant patrol wrappers were removed entirely with the release of Season Twelve: Reckoning in 2017.

“Friends in Unlikely Places”, “Know Your Enemies”, and “Better with Friends” were re-introduced with the release of Season Eighteen: Awakening and its new patrol launcher. They consist of the five patrols introduced to the system with the update, and their rewards were reduced to only a small amount of XP and no gear. They are also not required to complete Patrols; all Patrols currently unlock upon reaching Level 10.'

They should return the Kuva'magh and Guardian missions. They're pretty important seeing as how Miral still mentions them when you see her in the Iconian War arc.

I do miss some of the self contained stories. They were like the old event of the week episodes and just helped the universe feel alive even if some may have considered them faff or filler.

Saturday's Child was good as was The Tribble with Klingons. Plus Emperor O'brien and Joshua Riker was nice additions to the universe but hey ho spaghetti o.

I do think that they screwed up by removing them. Leaving them in as side missions or patrols would have been better IMO. But oh well.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

One of my Characters still has those removed Missions (not the Guardian and Kuvah'magh). You don't get the Button in Sector Space to enter the System for the Mission but you will get the fly-bys telling you the Mission name when you enter the System. The Mission proceeds normally, but you cannot complete it or get the Rewards (you do get drops)

Unless you drop the Mission, it can be infinitely repeated.

City on the Edge of Never was primary point of recommendation from me to future player's. It was quintessential Trek-immersion that helped this game shine. I have fond memories of playing through that as an actual group of player's. I think I still have some screenshot memories from that. Sad to think that is all that is left.

I find it odd that with a whole expansion based upon time travel, that the Guardian of Forever wasn't in some way integral to that storytelling arc. Would it steal the thunder out from under the Annorex Time Ship?

My understanding is that the issue was that the Guardian was somehow separately licensed from the rest of the IP. This is a question that got asked years ago because that map was a Foundry asset, but the Guardian itself wasn't.

one old i don't miss was that cardassian episode where you had to run over the lava on those narrow grates.. and it never failed that 2-3 of your boffs would fall in never to be revived...

Ah, the Bajor fire caves. Amusing map I get where the idea was going, but yeah, pathing sucked.

Yeah the fire caves needed safety rails on their scaffolding and clearly the pah wraiths blinded Bridge officers like they did to dukat.

Story was good though with cerin, I imagine it would look nice now if they fixed the pathing and added archive audio of dukat since she was hearing him.

But mine is not to reason why.
