Well, darn. I just wasted a rich dilithium mining token to make this discover. I really wish they'd get the dates right on those darn splash screen notices. According to the calendar the event is for next weekend and on this weekend as the splash screen indicates. Don't waste those rare bonus mining tokens..... This will be the third time they have done this. Posted a dilithium bonus event as live only to be a week off.
What happened to those unique forum ranks I paid for?
It’s not just the dil weekends. It’s all the events. They post it’s Apples this week but we login and it’s grapefruit. The next week they post it’s a Banana weekend and we get grapes.

Why can they not get this straight??
Because they can, will and do make changes. It might be irritating, but it's in the ToS that things may change at anytime they see fit.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

That is why I stopped reading the calendar, it's never right.

I made no complaints about development. I’m more then happy on that front. My gripe is lack of communication and the marketing department repeatedly putting out bad information and then not updating it. If they are going to change something fine, but then stop advertising the wrong info. They have a track record of this long before anyone heard of covid.

True, but with people switched to working at home it's going to be harder to coordinate things and to make changes. They plan to do something, there's a problem, they can't fix it in time. They did update the NEWS tab here even though the launch banner was still there last night.
You should be thankful that we're getting any new content and server updates at all since "Star Trek MMO" is not an essential service.
With all due respect.. don't make excuses for them.
These incorrect, vague, type-o filled, inaccurate announcements have been a problem for years. This isn't new, it's not because people are working from home.. it's because point blank.. the person that puts out this information just puts in as little effort as possible. This person can't even take 5 seconds to proof read anything before hitting 'post' he's certainly not going to take time to verify dates.
The issue has been going on for a long time, the person responsible knows who he is and has shown absolutely no interest at all in doing a better job. The result is that the player base constantly gets incorrect information. If it happened every once in a while.. sure.. people make mistakes, you let it go and move on.
This stuff has been happening week after week for a very long time.
They probably realized that with a Bonus Marks Event, Lobi Store Sale, C-Store Sale, a Zen Charge Bonus, Infinity Lockbox, and the First Contact (21-day) Day going on all at once, it made little sense to have a Dilitium Bonus Weekend shoveled on top of that.
These sales tend to pull Dilitium from the economy as people are looking to buy Zen. No point in adding more Dilithium to it until after the sales.
The interesting thing is the Tzen-tar being added to the Lobi Store for a limited time at a new higher price point. This may be testing the waters to see how 'Alien' type (non-main Faction) R&D Promotion Ships would fare in the Lobi Store on a limited time basis.
Note that recent Lobi Store Sales have been at 30%, this is 20%. Just wild conjecture on my part, but with the Tzen-tar being list price at 1,200 Lobi, a 20% Sale makes it 960 Lobi, still above the normal price for a T6 Lobi Ship of 900. A 30% Sale would have put that 1,200 Lobi Ship at 840 Lobi, less than a normal price of a T6 Lobi Ship. And since the Tzen-tar is limited time only in the Lobi Store it would only have been sold at the discount price.
Also, since the Mega-Event now offers a 1,000 Lobi Award in lieu of the free T6 Ship Token, you may find another of these special R&D Promotion Ships showing up on a limited time basis after those 1,000 Lobi payouts.

I have no issue with the reason behind it.. the issue is announcing incorrect information.
I have no problem with them moving the Dilithium Weekend, just don't tell people it's THIS weekend, if it isn't. Should be a simple request but for some reason they have to make it an issue.

That goes to show that some of these 'Events' are off-the-cuff additions that 'spoil the broth', forcing changes. It's like two different groups are adding stuff willy-nilly. And given the track record on News Blogs (they've never met one that isn't wrong in some manner). Look at the Bonus XP Weekend. How many times was that postponed because they shoe-horned something else in at the last minute to support some sort of Promotion.
It is a Carnival atmosphere here.

This weekend is just another money grab, with the expensive lobi ship being added meaning the only way to get it is by burning through a couple of hundred keys (20-25 thousand zen worth) assuming the usual pittance of lobi per gamblebox. Infinity gamblebox gets a new ship and a key sale to entice folk even more and a zen sale to give the impression of a sweeter deal.
You'd almost think that life around the world was normal and most folk aren't either out of work or at home on reduced pay hoping they have enough money to cover the basics until life returns to somewhere close to normality.
A better time for the kethi ship to appear would have been around the end of the event run when the encouragement to spend would still be there with the lobi being available via the zen buyout.
