Account bound ships

Not sure if this has been suggested before but this idea came to mind the other day. In the other Cryptic Studios game, Champions Online, you can have ships and items that are account bound. I know we already have some items in game that work that way as well. So what if Lobi ships, or prize ships could be repacked and moved to another character? I know it cuts into the profits of the game, but I think it would be great to be able to take some ship you really love and use it on a new character you created.

    This is not an original idea and it's been brought up thousands of times. Maybe tens of thousands. C-store ships are account bound. Cryptic released it's first T6 prize ship in the c-store in the form of the Picard Pack with the Miradorn. After that, Cryptic even released the Legendary Ship Pack that had slightly different versions of several existing prize ships. They also came with account wide unlocks. The precedent has been set IMO.

    Prize ships will continue to be single character only for the foreseeable future. Alternative versions may be added to the C-store in the same way that the Picard Pack and Legendary Pack were handled. Cryptic did say at one point that they were "looking into" making prize ships account wide unlocks. IMO, the Picard Pack and Legendary Pack were the method of testing out how profitable this can be.

    We may eventually see lockbox and promo ships become account wide, but there's no telling if it will be by making c store versions, or if they will just release like a token or something that does it. The devs are looking into it pretty heavily right now.

    Wish they would let you reassign a lockbox ship to another toon. It really is crazy that I can't give a ship I already paid for to another toon. After all I spent to win the ship {not to mention buying a lifetime membership} you would be inclined to spend more time playing multiple toons. Seems rather easy have a decommission token that would allow you to move a ship to another toon of the same faction. Some ships simply work better with different career types.

    (Not to mention that people would spend money to move ships around)
