While I agree STO can be a generous game. I'm calling you out on, "doesn't limit your account based on F2P status". Try to be truthful because your opinion does have some merit without false statements. Whether or not I, you, or any player decides to participate is probably based-on a self-calculation about is the effort worth the reward so I'll bean-count my own thank you very much just as I'm sure you do as well.

I own everything in the cstore at this point and there is a total of 8 lockbox, lobi, promo ships I don't have because I have no interest in them. Everything I have no a free to play person starting tomorrow could eventually have as well, it will simply take them alot longer than it did me. Unlike other games that nickle and dime you, STO doesn't do that. Their model is truly free to play unlike other games. Aside from a select few ships, namely the lifetime ships, anything you could want in game you can get with time and effort.

Is that trying to fix the dillithium exchange?

Probably. It's way too easy to get 3+ days of 20,000 dil per day during the 21-day events.

So? It's not like you can refine it any faster. Got chars with over half a million dil. Doesn't change how fast I can actually make USE of it.

"Cryptic is not giving me as much free Dil as they used to. This is a ripoff and is just part of the way Cryptic is trying to squeeze us for more money."

I dunno, am I the only one who sees the contradiction here? I mean, this isn't even "glass half empty" ruminations, this is "the glass isn't brim-full, with glazed cherries floating in it... I am disappoint." range.

Personally I've never experienced another game that gives away as much free stuff and game currency as Cryptic, doesn't limit your account based on F2P status, and allows you to exchange the game currency for the cash store currency. Maybe it's time to count your blessing and not bean-count small changes in participation rewards.

If you've got a limitation in mind, feel free to toss it out here. I've got a free account and a life sub. There's nothing I can do on my life sub that I can't do on my free account.

Unless you're somehow describing "everything in the game isn't free" as "limiting your account". Even then, there is nothing I've seen in-game that I can't grind some Dil for, exchange for Zen, and obtain for my free account.

There is a difference between "you're a free account so you cannot do X" (a limitation) and "there are things in the game that need to be purchased if you want access to them" (an optional purchase).

I'm stating regarding statement: "doesn't limit your account based on F2P status" without any supplement context, which now you & darkbladejk, are adding & moving goal-posts, isn't true. That statement on it's own merit is false.

Heck even Cryptic has a nice comparable list of features one gets or doesn't get based upon F2P & LTS so the limitations are described literally.

I'll toss you this after reading your: "Even then, there is nothing I've seen in-game that I can't grind some Dil for, exchange for Zen, and obtain for my free account." You can do all that for as long as you want & you still won't earn a LTS veteran ship will ya? Is there a way, please do tell. I'm sure that might be a long term goal for any/all F2P players.

I think darkbladejk just mentioned the LTS veteran ships too. There's just no good reason to entwine falsehood into an already valid, whether agree or disagree, statement.

You're fundamentally confusing "limiting your game account" (things you can do in the game) with "if they don't give away absolutely everything and every feature for free, that's a limitation". That's fine, you can adopt any position you wish, regardless of the logic of such a position.

It still stands that the only things a F2P player doesn't have access to are a few Lifetime sub perks.

I'll just leave it at that since it's an off-topic issue for the thread.

There you go again moving your goal-posts :-) re-read some of your comments again or better yet type your ideas more precisely in the future & no need to fabricate. :-)

Did Cryptic ever say anything or why JH didn't get a special shuttle too like the other factions, just curious?

No, they didn't but I assume it was because they didn't want to take the time to create it. The Jem'Hadar Fighter every Dominion Character gets and if you dispose of it you have to pay EC to get another. What we are talking about is the LTS Captain's Yacht, Commander's Gig, or General's Chariot.

Very good to know about that JH Fighter, hopefully the replacement cost is minimal EC.

34,250 EC for the Fighter. Pretty minimal.

Personally I’m ok with these levels. Sure, I’ll get less dil, as I’ve only missed one event day since this system arrived. But for a normal player, who maybe misses a few days each run, the bonuses start at a higher level. So you do get more dil if you play optimal over casually, but not as much more.

After I get all Campaigns to Tier 10, I concentrate on Federation for the XP and Spec Points, until maxed out. Then, maybe nothing, or get Tours that are near 10 to 10. My main, after reaching max on Specs pretty much stopped doing Admiralty for the most part. Just doing Doffing to get CXP to get Fleet Marks. I mean with 2.4 million unrefined (2.1 now) I didn't need more.

I think that focused approach might be best for me since I have trouble earning those Specialization Skill Points (SSPs) at a pace I'm content with. I'll still keep continuing to jab away at all 4 of the Admiraltys but after that maybe stay with Ferengi & then focus on Fed instead of KDF. I just don't think Rom upgrade tokens are that good & worth it. I just like to have 45-60 SSPs per character.

For players who play once per day, every day of each event, they will be getting less unrefined Dilithium, overall. See tables below.

For 21-day Event Campaigns - the first 14 days earn progress; on the 14th day, you can earn progress, get the Dil Event Reward (50,000 in the OLD system and 25,000 in the NEW system), as well as the first day's Dil bonus rewards (2,500 in the OLD system and 8,000 in the NEW system) if you play to earn enough "points" to get another day of progress (ie: instead of playing enough for 50 points, you play enough for 100 points).

    --Day __________14 ______ 15 ______ 16 ______ 17 ______ 18 _______ 19 ______ 20 ______ 21 _________ total
    --Dil [OLD] __ 52,500 __ 5,000 ___ 7,500 __ 10,000 __ 12,500 __ 15,000 __ 17,500 __ 20,000 ____ 140,000
    --Dil [NEW] __ 33,000 __ 9,000 __ 10,000 __ 11,000 __ 12,000 __ 13,000 __ 14,000 __ 15,000 ____ 117,000

For 30-day Events (Summer, Winter, Anniversary, etc) - the first 20 days earn progress; on the 20th day, you can earn progress, as well as the first day's bonus rewards of 2,500/8,000 Dil.

    --Day _________ 20 _____ 21 ______ 22 ______ 23 ______ 24 ______ 25 _______ 26 ______ 27 ______ sub-total
    --Dil [OLD] __ 2,500 __ 5,000 ___ 7,500 __ 10,000 __ 12,500 __ 15,000 __ 17,500 __ 20,000 ____ 90,000
    --Dil [NEW] __ 8,000 __ 9,000 __ 10,000 __ 11,000 __ 12,000 __ 13,000 __ 14,000 __ 15,000 ____ 92,000

    --Day_________ 28 ______ 29 ______ 30 _________ total
    --Dil [OLD] __ 22,500 __ 25,000 __ 25,000 ____ 162,500
    --Dil [NEW] __ 16,000 __ 17,000 __ 18,000 ____ 143,000

The amount of earned unrefined Dilithium diverges even more if can manage to play before the Maintenance Break on the very last day and/or you are hardcore enough to play _every_ 20 hours.

Don't know if this has been mentioned but the trick to event dil is claim it on a character who has the Ferengi dil pot from the Tour of Duty 10/10. Well current trick until they nerf it
