Feedback: Phoenix Prize Pack could use some more ships

getsgreasedgetsgreased Member Posts: 31 Arc User
The Phoenix Prize Pack is an awesome pack for upgrading gear. I don't know if people know just how good, but statistically working on quality upgrades MK XV Ultra Rare to Epic I rarely see the need to go above 25% before they pop Epic. (It's those multiple chances at increasing probability getting there)

Feedback: I would like to see more ships, though. Perhaps some of the Lockbox ships that attract people to the game? You could put a cost on them of 2-3 Epic Tokens and let people work towards them instead of spending big bucks on the small chance to get one opening lockboxes. Given the prize packs cost Dilithium, there would still be money spent to buy the packs, but these ships could really be earned instead of owned only by players who spend huge bucks to get them.

Just a thought.

Opening Lock boxes costs players zen, aka cash monies. Even if you buy keys from the exchange then someone else spent zen to get them.

You can earn mountains of dil without anyone ever giving Cryptic real world cash for zen. Reputations, admiralty, doffing, episodes, TFOs all earn dil created from thin air not cash.

Sorry, (T6) lock box ships is not going to happen. (Edit: as BMR points out, it did get a couple of older *T5* ships that were replaced by T6 ships and removed from the lock box prizes, but that's all.)

The whole point of the Phoenix Box is to allow players to obtain past retired rewards that they may have missed while also acting as a Dilithium sink.

There have been a couple of T5 Lockbox ships included, but that's been an exception not the rule. Now, I wouldn't mind seeing the removed T5 Lockbox ships included in the future, but we're not going to see T6 Lockbox ships included. Those are the income generators for the game.

I think my cohort will vouch for me that I tend to open the most boxes out of the moderation team, be it phoenix, promo or otherwise. If you really want a t6 ship that's not in the box, your best bet is to sell keys or a similar item and generate the EC that way. typically when the promo packs are around folks will stock up on those a bit, then sell the promo packs for EC afterwards. 2 promo packs is usually close to the same amount for a stack of 10 keys. Sometimes it takes 3 but generally selling keys and promo packs is your best bet. if you can craft gear, some of that can sell as well, but it really just depends on what you have available.
