Theme: The Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser
Guests: group 1: lead ship and UI artist Thomas Marrone and concept artist Hector Ortiz; group 2: systems designer Jette Leavens
• There's 3 ways to get progress on new ship: new TFO, omega particle collection and some as-of-yet unannounced 3rd way.
• Ship meant to represent working together that is what Star Trek is about.
• No final plans about how to implement Alliance service.
• They want to address in the future that while there's alliance now, there was a pretty hot war just before.
• Alliance battlecruiser visual design:
o For they initially thought about rotating nacelles, buy decided against it for various reasons.
o While they want more influences for future ships, they decided to go with the most basic things for the first one and combine more
iconic klingon and federation looks.
o Klingon ships are more about sharp edges and small details, while federation ships are more smooth and clean.
o This ship have name registry written for both english and klingon. That technically required 3 versions of same font for each
location. Now that tech is here, they can apply them to other klingon ships if they decide to.
o Only one "Khitomer alliance" material for now, more in the future.
o It comes with neutral bridge, unchangeable for now. Its own bridge may come in future.
o Full discountless buyout price is 6k zen. As with elachi event, it would be reduced by progress.
o Comes with new alliance registry that could be changed to character faction's one.
• More info on the U.S.S. Ross in about two weeks.
• Jette about current build: "What I build is approximately a standard "spacebar mash"-esque beam fire at will battlecruiser."
• Shield was the theme of the ship and how anti-borg it turned out was a coincidence.
• Ship used antiproton beams and ability damage by default because four damage types were removed by the process of elimination as they are connected to factions, tetryon is mostly associated with enemy factions and antiproton was chosen because "future" ships used antiproton beams and there's also chroniton beams.
• Command seating is there for some "flagship"-ish feel.
• Jette tried to represent duality of the ship in its trait and console stats.
• Jette considers romulan flamethrower to be most fun ground weapon.

Play a pve instead of doing the stupid minigame for event progress. Done!
Thanks for sharing the info OP. I appreciate it very much.
Looking for a fun PvE fleet? Join us at Omega Combat Division today.
The 3 gents discussing the process how 2 of them went about designing the ship. Also, later when the lady & 1 guy discussed how the stats & abilities can be influenced by the ship design too. I like this original Cryptic idea & hope they expand upon it as they hinted at doing in the future.
Cryptic needs/should make that new Khitomer Alliance (KA) logo a new badge option for wearing. Also, add the Dominion wingmen ability to any future KA ship involving a Dominion persuasion. For a Romulan blending any Singularity Core with improved power would be nice lol.
It's the JellyfishXL/most basic/ugliest bridge of all, isn't it?
*checks the video and sees it's Starship-Starship"*
Aw, F*BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP*ING COME ON!!

I had planned to avoid the event, because I don't like the Omega minigame, but this news changes everything.

Cue the inevitable, 'but Cryptic's findings were that people didn't like running Featured Episode three times to get a set'. Blah, blah. Episodes since Discovery have not had Sets, generally just a single reward item. So, a Featured Episode giving that Item and 40% (was 10 days worth, now 8) towards the Anniversary Unlock. Running a Featured Episode once vs. 8 days of a TFO (or the silly Omega thing). Time?
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
This is one of those egregious decisions that truly grinds my gears. Okay, they're not making bridges any more, I get that; but why slam ppl in the face, locking the ship to the standard, generic bridge?! That's adding insult to injury. If you're not making new bridges any more, at least let ppl use the ones they already own. Especially for a 10th Anniversary ship.
The point is actually 2 things:
-the ship is important in the story because it's the first full collaboration between the Federation and the Klingon. Why does this not have even an attempt at a different unique bridge?
-Why choose the most basic bridge when there are others less ugly basic bridges from crossfaction ships, like the Suliban, Universe, Tuffli, Amarie, Temporal, etc?
Heck even a slightly retextured version of the Vengeance bridge could work as a temporary cheap mix of Klingon and Fed designs if you add some red consoles here and there.
As a reminder, here's what the Starship bridge looks like:
and what the Alliance Battlecruiser looks like:
