    > I'm sorry...but at the half price, it is completely and totally worth it for the ACCOUNT unlock lockbox ship ALONE. In fact if you were expecting account unlock lockbox ships to be cheaper than 6k zen, you were in some fantasy land. Now if you don't like said lockbox ship...than yes, this bundle is a bad value. But yeah, the 6k price is NOT a bad value.

This is the reason I probably won't get it, at least not soon... because I don't care for the Raider particularly. If this continues, when a ship is offered this way that I know at least 2 of my toons will fly and/or use the trait from, I'll be there. Assuming you always wait for a sale to make ship purchases, any future lockbox ships in the store are really more like 9k for an account unlock, less if the base price is less for a standalone ship.

    Tadaaa :-)

Or they're trialing an idea with something expendable. If it flops, then hey it was just a one time thing. It's difficult to set a precedent/expectation. If there's support for it, especially by those insisting on "JUST LET ME BUY THE DAMN THING IN THE C-STORE" then they can take it a step further.

See also. Mudds and selling a "special" ship at a high price from a bygone promo (which again if it flops doesn't obligate them to continue the format or undermine something else with new expectations.) It's almost as if they're looking for ways to sell something other than perpetual RNG packs... (like just about everyone else in the industry) ;)

Basically don't TRIBBLE on it too much because even if it isn't for [insert person here] it's another example of experimentation with the C-store over other monetization channels.

Exactly. I mean people have asked for a c-store lockbox ship for AGES...and when one is actually offered, they complain it's too expensive...when one value is a bit above the expected price and the intro price is at the lowest one could reasonable expect. Seriously, that into price is the price of a c-store lockbox ship. If you REALLY want c-store lockbox ships, you should be buying this bundle.

At least for me, the lockbox ship isn't the issue. If this were a lockbox ship I wanted, I would buy it individually, outside of a this bundle (as I did the Vizier).
My complaint is the re-bundle of already existing assets, and throwing in a few extras to make it appealing. I don't want this bundle because 1) 90% of the contents are rehashes of already-existing C-Store content, 2) Breaks other bundles which I eventually do want to get (Galaxy Bundle), and 3) Lobi outfit included is single-character only.

I don't actually care for this specific lockbox ship, but even if it did include something else appealing in its place, I still wouldn't buy this bundle for the same reasons above. It's the bundle itself that's the problem, not the lockbox ship included.
Trying to equate them is unfair.

If the bundle included the Galaxy bundle as well, I actually might get it, since my core point of contention (#2 above) would be resolved.
    LTS Since Beta (Jan 2010).

So are they going to fix the bug on this bundle ridiculous that it says I own it already
  • noctusxxxnoctusxxx Member Posts: 108 Arc User
I do not own ANY Tommy guns. Missed the event. And I am seeing the same bug that it is already purchased. So I really hope they are investigating this more thoroughly than it feels.

I'm thinking of buying this while it has the 50% sale but I just have a few questions first.

    1. The "TNG Standard" Uniform, as listed in the bundle C-Store description which was labeled as "TNG Season 3+ Uniform" in the Announcement page by Ambassador Kael, is that the uniform labeled in the C-Store as "The Next Generation Uniform" in the Uniforms Tab?

Prob was a silly question but some of the items have been called as different things from the game/announcements/C-Store and it gets confusing as to why they just don't keep things called by one official name.

    2. Is the Replica Thompson Submachine Gun Account Bound or Character Bound after equipping it on a character? If character bound after equipped is it account bound prior to equipping?

I kinda want this but since its a one character unlock vs account, being Account Bound after being equipped would be a nice alternative.

    3. The Outfit Box with the Privateer Outfit, is that bound and if so is it account bound or character bound or is it opened instantly for the character the bundle is purchased on?

I don't know which character I'd want to have outfit just yet so if I can just chuck it in my account bank till I decide that would be great.

That's all the questions I have.

From what I can see the only things in this bundle that I already have are the TNG Season 1 Admiral and TNG All Good Things Uniforms, which makes this a pretty good buy for me at the half price sale even if the SMG and Privateer Outfit were character bound only.

Only downside is I will have to build my zen up again to buy an expansion pack I've been eyeing since its release. T.T

    Thank you for any answers.

Nobody asked for a (ie ONE) lockbox ship in the c-store. What people have asked for is the ability to pay, and we'll use your good price of 6K, for the ability to unlock account wide a lockbox ship they already own

And your logic of If you REALLY want c-store lockbox ships, you should be buying this bundle. is a ridiculous premise. Yet another example of predatory behavior and misleading marketing, and you want to reward it.....gold, Jerry...gold...

Unfortunately, this will be a single unlock. Meaning you receive only one on the character that claim the bundle.
I have no idea if it will be account bound before equipping it, though. Maybe someone that bought the bundle can tell you?
    3. The Outfit Box with the Privateer Outfit, is that bound and if so is it account bound or character bound or is it opened instantly for the character the bundle is purchased on?
    Same as above, I'm afraid.

    - quelli che sono talmente imbesuiti da credere a qualunque cosa i dev dicano, perfino che la luna è fatta di formaggio... e vanno sul forum a trollare;
    - quelli che credono a quello a cui è giusto credere, sono d'accordo con quello con cui è giusto essere d'accordo e sono critici con quello che non va;

The Tommy Gun is NOT account-wide unlocked. Pretty scrimpy by Cryptic & should've been account-unlocked.

The Picard "Privateer Outfit" is NOT account-wide & you only receive 1 too. it is a Lobi item.

All of these items are already in-game & have been for a lengthy while. Weigh the value for yourself & decide to purchase it or not. I don't think it is a good enough value, but others do & them some do not. I like Cryptic's attempt at introducing a gamble item into the mainstream I just think Cryptic is over-valued it.

They have been over valuing their Bundles lately anyway.

IMO, veteran players with many (active) characters are less likely to buy a lockbox/lobi ship compared to those with only a couple. Certainly paying a bit more if it means accessing the ship account wide would work in this case. The mechanism to do this is already in the game in the form of fleet ship modules. There are a few ships that I'm interested in but haven't gone for simply because there's no way in hell that I'm going to purchase ships individually for each character. And because they're all different it's impossible to narrow down the field to pick one or two.

Looking at the latest version of the Star Trek: Picard, I hope that that version of the Galaxy class shows up as a new skin option for the Star Trek: Picard Picard Bundle (considering that version of the ship shows up in the new show :) ).

It looks like it needs a bow tie to fit in with the what looks like a white colour fitted over a black suit that is the hull.

Well after this Morning's Patch instead of saying that I own the Bundle it says I don't meet the Requirements to buy it on my Discovery Character. That Character is the only one of mine that had actually claimed the Thompson from the First Contact Day Account Unlock.

One of my Romulan Characters was able to purchase the Bundle. That Character got three items in Inventory, a Box with the Thompson Bound to Character, an unbound Box with the Privateer Outfit, and an unbound Ship Upgrade Token. Whatever they said they did in the Patch Notes from this Morning is not strictly correct. If you have the Thompson you won't be able to purchase the Bundle on that Character, but having the Thompson Account Unlock does not say you already own the Bundle or keep you from buying it on a Character that DOES NOT HAVE THE THOMPSON. And no, I'm not throwing away an Epic Mk XV Thompson so I can buy the Bundle on a specific Character.

Methinks that these Binding Rules end up causing more trouble than they are worth. My Discovery Character can claim the Miradorn and take the Privateer Outfit. So to prevent you from having two Thompsons on one Character, all this churn and angst was caused.

Uh..What exactly in this bundle is from the new show????

It's to do with Picard in TNG. It would have been better to wait 'til after ST:Pickard is released to use the Picard Bundle name, especially if people are brought in by the new show wouldn't have a clue about Picard's time before the show.

    I know..They should have waited a bit..

I actually did buy the bundle. I wanted the Miradorn and was cheaper when it was on sale in the c-store than it would of been buying keys and converting them to EC.

Great example, for myself it isn't a good enough value, but if it works for you & feels right then congrats & hope you enjoy it!

I still cannot purchase the Picard pack on my main character.
It works on other toons but that does not help me as I want the tommygun on my main. The only thing I own from the bundle is the T5 ship (from the ship requisition token), but I have that on the other toons too.
Is there a way to figure out what is preventing my main from purchasing the pack? It just says I don't meet the requirements.

I agree with pretty much everyone that for those of us already owning 90% of the content in this pack, it is a very poor deal. But I also think that it is lacking items. Such as the different uniform versions seen in Star Trek Picard as well as the TNG Series dress uniform. And a dog pet plus the Argo ground vehicle.

I said this earlier in another post but one person's bundle of junk is another player's bundle of treasure. Imagine not having a romulan toon (or T'Liss), seeing Star Trek for the first time and wanting to buy yourself the the very first appearance of the Romulan warbird. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing about this bundle.

But the issue is - this is extremely expensive treasure even for those without it all. Its not worth it. Level up your new toon - why we paying for that now jemhadar characters get it for free? Legendary Starship - where's the D'Deridex? Exclusivity of pay for what you want - this bundle single-handedly shuns all other generations of Star Trek's beloved mainstay Romulan ships.

I bought the Starfleet Legendary bundle because it had a variety of new ships for me, new consoles and traits I knew I'd use, the 'bundle of treasure' that was actually worth something. You basically got to pay for gamble box ships in the c-store. This is NOT the case here. Its a T'Liss, it will forever be a cstore ship, no matter how much they give and take from it. And the bundle of items, for many, is complete junk.

As they say in Dragon's Den. "Sorry but I'm out".
