One thing i found when i got back after not being able to play STO for so long. ( some problems with running it on my system )
The one thing i was kind of dis a pointed with was i am in sol station orbit station and i hear still the same announcement coming from the overhead.
Like nothing had changed on that station, it got me thinking.
Would it be neat to have announcements relating to your timeline progression that make sense rather then here still that same announcement of a shuttle is about to land or launch at the same landing pad shortly.
Or if down time is about to be done for the shard restart the announcer would call for a short downtime announcement with time frame ?
Basically some examples not actual idea's.
It is just i seem to see everything still doing the same old thing or announcement after a good 9 years of playing this game.
Tbh i played other games i know, that had this same roll going on, would be unique for STO to do so.
There are things that allready shown me that you can unlock some features on a station when you progress your storyline, why not also the AI announcements ?
I'd rather they just cut it...no need to listen to the same old announcements over and over again. (Even if they put in new announcements they will still be repeated over and over so the shine will quickly fade)
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
I agree that it would be nice for them to swap out some of the announcements every year.
They could use it as a way to try out some new voice actors on something that has low impact on the game.
I'd like to see more variety in the mission voice acting, since it feels like I'm hearing the same people over and over wearing different faces.
cryptic could organize a voice contest, and the better announcements would be added in game: I mean voices of the players.
not only, it would be nice for the chosen players, and cryptic would have free voices

That's probably a no go as it's highly unlikely that the chosen player would just happen to be a SAG member (if they can't record new lines with a member of their own production team why do you think they could do it with randomly selected strangers).
